About
De Montfort University (DMU) is recognised by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) as a Gold Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Education (ACE‑CSE), the highest level of recognition in the programme. First recognised in 2019, DMU is the only institution in the East Midlands to hold ACE‑CSE Gold status. The award reflects sustained excellence in teaching, student outcomes, industry collaboration, outreach and research-informed education.
Our ACE‑CSE is led from the School of Computer Science and Informatics. It draws on the Cyber Technology Innovations cluster within DMU’s Digital Future Institute. As an Academic Centre of Excellence, we are committed to strengthening cyber security across our region and beyond. We deliver TechFirst courses, host DMU Cyber Week and national competition finals, and work with schools, FE colleges and SMEs across the East Midlands. We do this to build an inclusive pipeline of cyber talent and to improve cyber resilience across the University, the city and the wider community.
